Exclude typeahead entries from search analytics dashboard results

Goal

Exclude typeahead-triggered queries from appearing in the top search terms or other metrics within a Fusion analytics dashboard.

Guide

Confirm the filter field is set correctly

To exclude typeahead queries, ensure the filter uses the correct field format in the Fusion analytics dashboard:

params_queryProfileID_ss:Typeahead

To apply the exclusion in the dashboard filter:

1. Open the relevant analytics dashboard.

2. Add a new filter.

3. Choose the params_queryProfileID_ss field.

4. Set the filter type to mustNot.

5. Enter Typeahead as the value.

This filter removes typeahead queries from the query results shown on the dashboard.

Example:

Validate the correct signals collection is selected

Check the collection dropdown in the analytics dashboard:

• Select the signals collection containing the data you expect.

  • Example: DeveloperCenter_signals

If no data appears, switching to the correct collection often resolves the issue.

Troubleshoot missing results

If results are still missing after verifying the filter and collection:

• Open the dashboard in an incognito browser window or different browser.

• Clear your browser cache and reload the dashboard.

• Use the Load feature (top-right corner of the dashboard) to upload a known working analytics configuration file if one is available.

If results appear after loading the file, your configuration may have been misaligned or corrupted. Use the working file as a baseline to reapply desired filters.
